Recap: Well Kurt is out with a wounded paw so I made a showing. The supposed 4.6 or 4.7 miles course at the shoreline was rolling with hills and runners. The Gun goes off promptly at 9:45am a combined group of masters and open runners converge on a narrow path that fits 2 across. Those of us who were smart knew to get out fast! The fron pack consisted of 6 Aggie open men and one transporter. The pace was slow with the first mile being 4:50 for the front group and the next group witch contained myself right at 5:00. Not bad considering the uphill at that point. As soon as we hit the down hill the group strung out and we were single file. By that point I had let quite a few people go (around 25 people ahead of me). As we made are way through 2 miles I hit 10:02 and was feeling fine, but no gears to push any faster...at that point I was pretty content to hold the pace with the hills coming. About another Half-mile in I was being to pass runners who had went out a little harder than they should have. At first I thought I was gaining, but as it turned out my pace just stayed the same...15:04 at 3miles. AS we hit the turn arpund for home I could see K. Pierpoint and JT service Tearing away together preparing for the final push up the hill. I Also saw a new Aggie who I slapped paws with at the start line..Crosby (what a beast). In the end I managed to catch a few more on the hill, but still no gears to speak as I hit 4 in 20:03 and managed 23:30 on the dot for the finish. However I did get a good view of Pierpoint losing ground to Mr. service as JT went on to win in around 21:48. All in all the boys in blue and one lion too dominated the teams. Our women did the same..Honorable mention to Kara June (1st) and new aggie Becca Walker (5th being out of shape) leading our women to domination as well. As for me I finished perplexed by not being tired, and being able to push anymore. Unforntunately I had no time to question further as I went from the finish to my car to work with no cool down! stupid hours. anyways I went for a 6mile run this afternoon and thought to myself it must be my body is ready for a marathon. I think I am going to do clarksburg 30k in 2 weeks as a true test. In anycase Good racing was had and Potass when are you gonna start running again? Call me! I'll get some pictures up later!
